What Is Life Exactly?

Mon Jun 8 08:08:34 AM MDT 2026 I’d like to know for a fact what this life is all about. I don’t seem to understand its true potential most of the time. What is one’s own true potential? I’m not sure I even understand what that’s all about. Are we ever meant to fully understand what this life is about? I doubt it. It remains a mystery to us all. Why does life have to be a mystery at all? I don’t get it. I mean it makes sense on some level? But not really. Maybe life isn’t meant to be figured out at all? I mean that’s possible right? Right?! Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. Apricots are delicious! I have some this morning for breakfast, that and toast. I rather enjoy me a good apricot. Cute little fuzzy things they are! I like those and peaches most. Who knows what other fruits I enjoy. It’s been a while since I’ve actually enjoyed some fruit. I need to change that in my diet. John Taylor 1886 Revelation on Polygamy

For the longest time the LDS church denied that John Taylor had received a revelation on polygamy, or the New and Everlasting Covenant spoken about in D&C Section 132. Well it came to light and the church acknowledged it finally after so many years of claiming it didn’t exist. Why did the church do this? Why deny something didn’t exist only to later say, oh yeah I guess it did exist after all. Whoops! Doesn’t quite make sense to me.

Here’s the wording of the revelation penned by John Taylor:

Sept 27 1886 My son John. You have asked me concerning the New & evelasting covenant how far it is binding upon my people. Thus saith the Lord all commandments that I give must <be obeyed by those calling themselves by my name> unless they are revoked by my or by my authority, and how can I revoke an everlasting covenant; for I the Lord am everlasting my everlasting covenants cannot be abrogated nor done away with; but they stand for ever. & have I not given my word in great plainness on this subject? Yet have not great numbers of my people been neglient in the observance of my law & the keeping of my commandment and yet have I borne with them these many years & this because of their weakness because of the perlious times & furthermore, it is more pleasing to that men should use their free agency in regard to these matters. Nevertheless I the Lord do not change & my word & my covenants & my law do not. & as I have heretofore said by my servant Joseph all those who would enter into my glory must & shall obey my law & have I not commanded men that if they were Abraham’s seed & would enter into my glory, they must do the works of Abraham. I have not revoked this law nor will I for it is everlasting & those who will enter into my glory must obey the conditions thereof, even so amen.

Temptation Bible vs Book of Mormon

In the Bible in 1 Corinthians 10:13 we find: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able ; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. But what might seem as a contradiction is found in Alma 13:28 But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear , and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering; So, which is it? Either God tempts you to a point and stops, or you have to actively pray not to be tempted beyond that no return point. Which is it?

Didn't Sleep

What's the point of sleep anymore if I can't sleep? I don't think I slept any good last night. I was awake at 3 am wondering to myself, what on earth am I doing awake? Yeah, that happened. It doesn't make any sense. Fortunately, it's the weekend. So, I can catch up on sleep tonight. I don't have to be anywhere tomorrow, so it's a good opportunity to actually sleep for once. Whatever the case, I hope I'll be able to fall asleep and stay asleep. We will see what happens.

An Opposition In All Things

Long has been the story told about how there must be an opposition in all things. From the pre-existence there was Satan, Lucifer the Son of the Morning. In the beginning we were with God in his presence. We learned all we could while there. Until the moment we couldn’t progress any more, we were unable to become like God. So, we were given the opportunity to come to Earth to gain a body. A Savior would be provided to atone for our sins enabling us to come back to the presence of God. The idea that an opposition must be in all things comes from 2nd Nephi: For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my firstborn in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither...
