Blast From The Past: You'll Never Know

Sometimes you just have to see what’s out there and take a look around you. There could be people waiting for your help and you don’t even know it. When you feel a presence in your life to do something for someone else, take that and run with it. You never know who you’ll affect.

Smallville - Zod Is An Idiot!

Okay, I get it Zod is the bad guy. But is he an idiot? You take blue Kryptonite to make sure you don’t get sucked up to another world only to put it into your foe…and you get sucked up into that other world anyways? Wow! I kind of saw that coming, I won’t lie. Season 9 felt like a real slow burn for me. I like that about the older TV shows when we got more than twenty episodes a season! Talk about a wild ride. Season Nine did not disappoint. Now, onto Season Ten! The final and last season of Smallville.

Smallville - Doomsday - Jimmy - Zod

Okay, so I just finished Season 8. HOLY CRAP they killed Jimmy Olsen! I did not see that coming! I’m starting to think Doomsday/David was a prick. But hey, that’s just my own thought on the matter. He sure didn’t want anyone having Chloe but himself. Good thing Clark took care of Doomsday. It took me a moment to realize that the battle was over once they hit that geothermal station and things exploded. To be honest, I’m not impressed with the Doomsday storyline in Smallville. It didn’t capture the same erie feeling that the comics did. I don’t think anyone has accurately portrayed Doomsday the way he was meant to be seen. Some have come close, but even then they got things wrong. I would love to be able to watch a true Superman Doomsday throwdown. You know what I’m talking about, where Superman dies but before dying he learns that Doomsday’s bones are his weakness and takes him out. Just like in the comics. But alas, I think that would be too long of a movie to fully explain Doomsda...

Samllville - Doomsday???

So, Doomsday showed up in Smallville. They were hinting at it. Jor-El told Clark in the fortress that Doomsday was coming. I was like, wait a second, doesn’t Superman meet up with Doomsday? Not some before Superman kid? Yeah…that was unexpected to say the least. I’m not sure if I want Clark to deal with Doomsday at this juncture. I mean, yes we’re talking about a show that’s been off the air for like twenty something years, but I’m a first time watcher so it’s exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what happens! I did read a few spoilers, I need to stop doing that! So I have an idea of what to expect about a certain character. (I think the whole thing is kinda dumb if you ask me, but it’s…whatever. When I get to that point I’ll rant about it.)

Smallville - Is He Dead???

Okay, okay. So…what happened to Lex? Did Lex die? He and Clark went down in the huge ice/crystal Fortress of Solitude thing as it collapsed all around them and then what? Season Eight starts and there’s no Lex! What happened to Lex? I had to google it, and the actor wanted to pursue other things in his career, a noble choice, and they brought in this Tess Mercer chick? What the hell is going on with her?! I want Lex back! I mean, first Lionel, now Lex? WTF man?! Why is this happening? I get it, shows that last for a while they tend to fizzle out every now and then and it’s time to bring in new blood into the family. But seriously? Lex? Lex Luthor? He’s Superman’s arch enemy! You can’t kill the guy! Can you?! If they did kill him, then I guess he’s dead. Gone. Kaput! But come on now. WTF mate?!

Smallville - Did He Really Die?

So, I was watching Smallville (what else is new I know), and Lionel dies??? It was a WTF moment for sure! Lex just upped and pushed him out the window! WOW I was not expecting that! I mean maybe I should have seen it coming? I’m sure the clues have been there all along, it’s been building up to…something? But this? I, I was shocked to say the least! Lionel was starting to grow on me. But if he’s dead? Who knows what will happen next. Part of me is wondering if he was a clone. If he actually faked his death, or had his clone confront Lex because he knew Lex would do something to kill him? I’m not sure. But then again, why would the clone be wearing the locket with the key? So many unanswered questions! On to the next episode!

Smallville - Dean Cain

So I’m watching Smallville Season 7 and Dean Cain shows up and he’s a bad guy? Yeah talk about an unexpected twist! I’m not sure I like the thought of him being evil. But he is an actor so I guess that’s what happens when a story needs a role filled. It gets confusing when someone asks “hey isn’t that Clark Kent?” Yes, but wrong version of Superman. Wrong show. But impressed they knew something about Superman. So, yeah. That’s how the Kryptonite tumbles!

Smallville Season 4 Episode 17

I loved this episode! It truly put forth what would eventually become Clark and Lex’s real friendship. Their battling each other, Lex using Kryptonite against Clark was genius, and when he said the following line? You were right about me all along, Mr. Kent. I am the villain of the story, WOW! Talk about an amazing delivery. We finally got a taste of what they would be in the future. Pure enemies. But that line was the best part of the episode.

Smallville Season 4 - Witching Time

Okay, so Smallville gets it’s Charmed vibe on in this episode. I’m not sure what the episode name is, but that doesn’t matter. There are three witches possessing Lana, Lois, and Chloe. I think they just stole Clark’s powers. Talk about a wild ride. Did they mean to basically rip off the Charmed Ones? That I’m not sure. It’s an interesting episode, I wonder if Clark will get his hands on anohter stone and put it in that cave thing. I mean there’s two more spots right? So two more stones have to be found eventually. Of course they’re talking about the three stones in this episode too, so there’s that. What is it with the number three in this episode? Three witches, three stones. Yeah it’s a thing. I’m not sure I get it right now, but I’m sure it will eventually make sense.

Smallville Season 4 Episode 1

Okay, so I’m starting Season 4 and am on Episode 1. We meet Lois Lane, that’s Chloe’s cousin. She comes to Smallville to try and track down what happened to Chloe. Meanwhile, Clark comes falling out of the sky in a bolt of lightning. Yup he’s naked in a cornfield. On top of that he has amnesia. Yeah … Clark doesn’t remember who he is. Later on he thinks he’s Kal-El, even goes flying after some kind of crystal Lex has. But his mom brings him back down to Earth, literally as he was seen flying earlier in the episode. Good ol’ Black Kryptonite given to her by Margot Kidder, who played the original Lois Lane in the Superman movies. (I love how this show brings in guest stars like this.) So Clark is back to normal and he remembers flying, saying it was “awesome.” His dad wakes up from his coma and Lois tries to forge a connection with the Kents so she can hopefully find something out about her cousin Chloe’s death. Yeah I enjoyed the season opener. Can’t wait to see what happens in this...

Smallville Season 3 Finale

What the hell did I just watch? Did Chloe and her father just get murdered? Did Lex do this? Or was it Lional? Well I guess Lex was poisoned or something after he drank from that glass of brandy. So who knows what’s going on there. And what’s up with Clark? Jor-El really wants his kid to become the supreme ruler of the entire planet doesn’t he. God complex much? What does he really want with Kal-El? What is his end goal with Clark? Jonathan seems to be knocked out as well. Damn that Jor-El! What the hell is up with that? He seems rather ruthless and cunning to get his way. Sending a fake Kara to Clark telling him she’s from Krypton too? WTF Mate?! Yeah this season finale sure packed quite a punch. Then Clark just disappears into the cave wall? Or portal/entrance? Whatever that was. So he’s being reborn, whatever that means. Methinks Jor-El is up to no good here. That’s all I can think about it.

Smallville Season 3

Been watching Smallville as of late. Yeah I’m trying to binge my way through it. I’m not sure how far I will get this time around. But I want to get all the way to season ten. I’m currently in Season 3. I’m liking the season so far, havne’t had any issues with it yet. It’s nice to see some familiar faces pop back up during this season. Lex going to the loony bin? Yeah that hit close to home as you can imagine. But I’m enjoying it. Like really enjoying it. I do believe I’ll be able to get all the way through season ten this time around instead of stopping at season six like I did last time. Not sure why that happened, but it did and that’s all there is to it.

Smallville: Lana and Chloe

There are two characters in Smallville that center around Clark ’s life. Those two people are Lana and Chloe . Now don’t get me wrong, I get it. He’s a guy, they’re women so there has to be some drama here and there. But during the first few seaons, of what I’ve seen so far, there is a ton of drama between these three people. I blame it on High School. It’s High School drama for sure. There’s no other way to explain it. They’re kids. Where kids are drama is sure to follow. I suppose that’s okay to an extent, but it doesn’t have to be sprinkled about every chance you get. I like the show, just the drama between these two can be a bit much at times. They both have feelings for Clark, yet Clark only really likes Lana. Naturally we know he won’t end up with either of them in the long run. He ends up with Lois Lane during his time at the Daily Planet. (Thank goodness for small favors!) Maybe they could have done something different with the women in the show? I don’t know what they c...

A God Among Men

So I’m watching Smallville right? Clark gets to understand some things about Krypton from none other than Christopher Reeve , the Superman of the four movies from the 70s/80s. He’s in a wheelchair at this time due to his horse accident . Anywhoo, Clark goes back to the storm cellar and activates his ship. He seems some Kryptonian writing and reads it to his father, Jonathan. It says he’s to be a God among men and that the Earth is basically weak and flawed. That they must be ruled over and ding ding, Clark is the one to rule over them through his strength. Kinda creepy. We saw what Superman can do if he goes rogue from Superman and Lois . He downright destroyed and murdered people. Now I’m sure Clark won’t stopp to that level in the series. His father (Jonathan) bought him up to be a good boy. He’s teaching him how to be a respectful man, and I can’t blame him. Clark is a good kid, he doesn’t want to become something he’s not. Not deep down at least. I have a good feeling about Cl...

Red Kryptonite

Just watched the episode of Smallville where Clark gets influenced by red kryptonite. Yeah, that episode. If you don’t recall the episode, the school makes class rings out of red meteorite. Instead of rubies. Clark puts one on, and we see a completely different side to him. He’s arrogant, not confidence, it’s complete asshole arrogance on his part. He’s a jerk. I wanted to shout at my television and yell “NOOOOO Don’t Do It!!!” I didn’t but I wanted to. Good thing Pete and Mr. Kent were able to stop him before he continued his evil ways. I felt for Clark at the end, he felt bad about what he did but couldn’t tell anyone what had actually happened. I know Pete knows about him by this point in the series. But no one else knows except for his parents and that one-off kid that we’ll probably never see again. Good episode overall. I enjoyed it.

Smallville

I started watching Smallville again after pausing mid-season 6 after so many years. Let’s just say it’s been a while since I watched the show. It’s literally been years. But I wanted to give it another shot. Because why not? After Smallville I think I’ll tackle Supergirl. Yeah, I’m on a Superman kick right now. Or is it a DC kick, ’cause some Batman would be rocking too! I’m not really into the other aspects of what was known as the Arrowverse. So I probably won’t explore much beyond what I have planned. That can always change though, there’s no telling what’ll happen to be honest. I just finished watching the episode where the kid can read minds. He of course finds out Clark’s secret because, hello mind reader! But he was pretty chill about it. He didn’t go and blab it all over town. Probably because he has his own secret to protect. I kind of wish they could have kept the kid as a side character. But the focus is on Clark and his tuning in his powers, not some sidekick. But yeah, C...

Superman and Lois (Spoilers)

Talk about an amazing show. I was hooked from the start. It took a new unique approach on Superman and Clark Kent. Not to mention, Lois, Lana, and the rest of the gang. Of course then there are Jordan and Jonathan, the children. Hell even Lex Luther was amazing in this show. But, there is one character that was beyond amazing, and it’s one of the villains. That’s right, I’m talking about. Doomsday. This show did something right with the character. They kept killing the subject over and over until it became Doomsday, an unkillable creature. Just like the comics. Sure in the comics they started with a baby on Krypton. But Superman and Lois’ way of doing it is acceptable to me as well. It felt like each season built upon previous seasons. Lois’s breast cancer, Clark’s human heart. When they both died in the finale, it broke my heart. Superman isn’t supposed to die, but well the way the storyline went, he did; and you know what? I’m OK with that. Lois also died from her cancer that came ...
