Sleepy Day

Today feels like a sleepy day, I don't know why that is. It just feels that way. I wish I could figure out why life happens the way it does. But I don't understand how anything goes about in this life. If I could understand one thought in life...I think I'd like it to be able to grasp why we are here on this Earth. Is it because the aliens want us to become something better than we are? I mean they're the ones in charge right? I think they are.

We Live In A Simulation

You read that title right. We live in a simulation. Nothing is real. It's as real as you want it to be. But that doesn't mean it's actually real. So, what does it mean to be in a simulation? You're a lab rat. Being tested here and there, to see how you react. React to what exactly? Life. Everyday life. You think that's air you're breathing? Nah, it's recycled in some factory where we are all in pods. Just waiting to wake up from this hell. It's not easy being in a simulation once you know the truth behind the lies. They want you to think you're living a life. Any life you wish to live. But it's all been directed into your mind via some sophisticated computer program. How else would the simulation run? That's just how it tends to work out. You have no choice but to go along with the simulation. If you try and go against it? They inject you with medication to ensure you obey. Obedience is the basis of it all. Will you be obedient to whatever i...

Only A Digit Away

Fred looked across the table to his date. "So what you're telling me is this device is a phone?" He pointed to a large piece of equipment with a keypad and an antenna on it. Lucy held the device up and nodded. "Yep, it's called a cell phone. A new invention my company is producing." "A cell phone." Fred said carefully "where's the cord?" Lucy shook her head "You're silly, there is no cord. It runs through airwaves." She looked at her watch "I've got to get going. Thanks for dinner." Fred nodded as his blonde friend stood and walked away taking her new toy with her. Hey envied Lucy, she was always showing off the various new inventions her company developed. He knew she wasn't suppose to share them with him, but she didn't seem to care. He knew that he wanted a cell phone., Fred wanted Lucy's cell phone. He imagined what power he would have. Not to mention how much money he could end up making. F...

Writer's Block Sucks

My tale is not that different from those that have happened to others. Why do I proceed to speak when people have already heard such things, one must wonder. Each person is unique in their own special way. My uniqueness is my own, but my journey has been told by others I'm sure. The day was like any other day. Children were playing in the yard, dogs barking or going on walks with their owners, and people were going to work. Since it was the day time, I was taking my usual needed sleep. This is curious to most, they wonder why I sleep during the day. Let's just say that I work the graveyard shift. Heh, if it were only that easy. By my nature I am a creature of the night. No, not a video game addict who plays until the wee hours of the morning. No no. My curse is much more worse than that. You see, I'm a vampire. I suppose there's more to the explanation than that. I am a vampire with writers block. Of course I wasn't always a vampire. A long time ago I actually had a...

Strangers From The Sky

Preface A year had come and gone since Nokev returned back to the city of Shuka from the mountain range of Kerta. Over that period of time the Religious Council basically grilled him for information. No one had ever come back from outside the city limits unharmed, Nokev was the first. He didn't have answers for their questions and he was glad for that. The excitement and rumors wouldn't wouldn't die down for a while, Nokev learned to deal with people staring at him. Nokev's wife, Norev, helped her husband reconstruct his technical journals and other notes over the previous year. She kept the majority of Nokev's writings safe from the council. Norev knew how important her husbands work was to him and wanted to help him as much as she could. She figured that if Nokev could turn a new leaf and learn to put her before his work again, she could help him out. Norev was still angry with the council for not sending a search and rescue team out for her husband. As far as Nor...

What's Out There?

Chapter One The sun was brightly shining over the city of Shuka, there was peace on the planet. Children were playing childhood games with each other, birds were chirping love songs and other beautiful music that was pleasant to the ear. It was a glorious day to be alive at such a time, indeed it was a marvelous time to be alive. Nokev, an engineer by trade, was sitting at a computer console in his workshop. Over his lifetime he had worked on several different projects trying to improve the society in which he lived. For over ten millenia the city of Shuka had found peace, Nokev wanted to continue that peace for as long as possible. He was always interested when other civilizaitons from other worlds would come to Shuka and share experiences and literary arts with his people. Because of the strict religious rules, he with other fellow Shukians were not allowed to go outside of the city limits. Nokev had always wondered why they weren't allowed to expand their horizions as he liked t...

Fire Planet

Chapter One: What to run that by me again? Seth looked to the imposters who called themselves Eric and Rebecca Tompson. In his mind, he knew the truth, the facts of how they died and didn't want to believe the dead were standing in front of him now like a zombie movie gone bad. Seth had read the official reports and was angry at what he saw. "You are not their grandparents." Seth exclaimed in his best authoritative tone. His heart began to beat faster. He could feel his veins popping up on the sides of his face and arms. Seth was in the middle of a mental crisis that wouldn't go away until he had the answers he wanted to hear. Eric nodded. "What you read in your reports was true, Eric and Rebecca are dead. We're duplicates." He looked to John and Julie; they were about to learn the truth of what happened over 60 years ago. Julie was still unconscious and was lying on the ground after having fainted at seeing her grandparents alive on an alien world. ...

Ice Planet

Chapter One: Now You Know Date: December 26, 2162 Location: Old Earth Orbit, Space Station Beta "My planet was dead to begin with." John said "Though it was not my planet, not entirely. It was my grandfather's planet, and his fathers before him." He was standing in the sitting room where his grandfather, Eric, had told him of how Earth was no more; and after that he watched the Tribunal take his grandfather away, dead. The memories were not pleasant, they were painful and bitter. He picked up the picture of his grandmother, the same picture his grandfather look at often when he thought about the past. "That was very brave of our grandfather to give you that information knowing what his actions caused." A female voice said. "His life." John deactivated a recording device and turned away from a bookshelf to the doorway where his siter was barely inside the room. "Julie. What are you doing here?" He hadn't noticed the door open or...
