Stargate SGU

Started watching Season 2 of Stargate Universe on DVD.

I really need to start from the very beginning and write something about the episodes... I think that would just be a fun activity. Of course I don't feel like doing it, because I'm lazy. Yeah something like that. Oh the good times and how it all comes together.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Dear Thursday

If I had to write a letter to today, I wonder what I would write about.

Would I tell the day it hasn't made much progress, that it could have done better for me? Or would I just go and accuse it for being something that it isn't. Perhaps I would tell Thursday it should be more like Friday... yeah that would do it.

Of course Telling a weekday that it's not as good as its neighbor might bring issues into the mix. What if it already has problems because it's not as good as Wednesday. Yeah that.

Prison Ship

Heh, I made it to chapter nine of my book! I'm so excited. You just never know how it all will work out. I've read other books... well attempted to read other books and I just never got far. Sooo I'm reading this book still.

There was a sweet fight in it in the last chapter. The bar went kaboom. It was good.

Personally I wouldn't mind being on a space ship. That would be really cool.

Hardcore Pawn

Ah love this show. Freakin' love it!

Basic jist, follows around the owners of a pawn shop in  Chicago. They constantly get into arguments and fight each other as well as the customers.

Seriously check the show out, not bad at all.

Biggest Loser

So... I watched the Season 12 opening of Biggest Loser last night. To be honest, it wasn't at all great. I'm not sure what I didn't like about it. The two new trainers? The age difference groups? Who knows. I just didn't like it at all.

Of course Bob stole the show with his group "winning" the weigh in for week 1. Of course he'll win, he's Bob. He's been doing the show for how many years? Exactly. That wasn't a shock at all.

They redid the gym. That was nice. Probably needed a face lift, kinda like the host... she could do away with the smoker voice and could get a face lift or two. Kidding... sorta. Yeah I'm kidding. :-) I'm not that mean.

But yeah. It wasn't much of anything to be amazed over or surprised about. Same old games, same old stuff just a different week and new people.

Kitty Scratches

So... sometime in the middle of the night, my kitten scratched my arm. I'm not quite sure when it happened.... just that it did. Part of me wants to believe that the cat was annoyed that I was squishing it while I was sleeping. The other part wants to think that it just was out for revenge... for ... something. Nope no clue.

I don't really care about them either. They don't hurt... never really did. Oh well, kitty had fun with my arm. End of story.

He sure is a cute little kitten!

Two and a Half Men

Watched the season premiere of Two and a Half Men with Ashton Kutcher. It was alright.

To be honest, I'm not sure what I was expecting with the new season, after they got rid of Charlie Sheen. Nice how they just killed off the character. LOL

I think I'll enjoy the new show. Not too bad at all.

Drive

One of the shows I wish would have made it... past 4 episodes was Drive. The premise is simple, an illegal race across the U.S. Main star, Nathan Fillion. Such a good show that was. I ended up buying the four episodes that Apple had in digital format.

Sad to see that it just didn't make it.

JAG - Season One

Dang, loving this first season of JAG. It's so raw. You didn't see much of the office, you were mostly shown things in the field. I assume that had to do with the amount of money they had available to them.

Of course after Season One, NBC dropped the show. It was picked up by CBS who wanted a change. So they basically did a new pilot. Added characters etc.

I wonder if NBC is kicking themselves for not continuing on with the show. Yeah something like that. I know I sure would be upset to drop a show, and then hear that it became successful someplace else. I mean shoot, the show was on for 10 years.

The Weekend

Sitting at home, and watching JAG. Good times indeed.

Been thinking of making a list of stuff while watching the episodes. But not sure exactly what to track. Kills, deaths... everytime someone swears. Haha That could get interesting. Been a while since I saw the first episode... talk about raw.

Of course the seasons didn't really come into full swing with season 2 and above. Yep, that's when it started getting really good.

Coke

What is it about a soda that just makes you nom nom nom nom? You know what I'm talking about right? I mean you're thirsty one night so you decide to go and get something to drink. You happen upon a Maverick and you get a Coke. Not just any Coke, but a Cherry Coke.

Now we're talking. So good and so yummy. It's refreshing and exactly what your thirst needed.

Of course not everyone likes Coke... some like the other kinds of soda out there. But we won't be talking about that.... you must enjoy the Coke. Trust me on this one.

QSquared

This was the book that I read in two days. I honestly couldn't put it down.

Bought it at the DI for $4.00. Back in 1995 I think it probably went for around 22.50 or something. So yes def saved moneys by waiting to purchase the book. Haha

Jist of the book: Trelane is bothering the heck out of Q. He's an infant in the Q world... or a teenager basically. So what do teenagers do? They bother the people in charge of them.

So, Q comes to Picard for assistance with his little problem.

It's a very good story. I'd highly recommend it to any Trek fan out there. Of course it helps that it was written by one of my favorite authors, Peter David.

I wouldn't say it was a complex story... but parts of it were rather complex. The author juggled the three universes he was working with quite well. Since I'm a major fan of any kind of alternate universe story, this one fell right in line with how my mind works.

So yes, two thumbs way up on this book. Get it. Read it. Love it.

ColdFusion Good Times

ColdFusion has come a long way since I first started using it back in 2003. I started using version 5.0. It was at that time owned by Macromedia.

Later on Macromedia was bought out by Adobe. I'm sure some were afraid that Adobe would cease production of ColdFusion, but they were good and played nice, keeping CF around.

ColdFusion is currently in version 9. Not sure when version 10 will be released, but I'm sure it will have some good stuff to go with it. The updates usually do.

Some things I find interesting about ColdFusion are the following:

  1. Rabid application development
  2. Integrate Java in with your pages, via cfc's or scripting
  3. Works nicely and plays well with others
I'll come up with a better list later, but right now those come to mind. I mean it better play nice with Java, it was re written using Java altogether.

Prison Ship

Started reading a book called "Prison Ship" by Michael Bowers. So far so good.

About a guy who was on a mission where his people were killed. So what did he do? He went after the scum that gave the orders to go on the mission. Well he ended up in prison. After an attempt on his life, he goes to be the captain of a prison ship to earn points to get out of prison.

So far a good read. I'm on chapter 5.

Well see how long I last in it. It's Sci-Fi for sure. But... never read anything by this author before. It's exciting.

Hello Sunday - 9/11/11

Today is Sunday. Remembering a terrible event that happened 10 years ago on 9/11/01.

Lots of people are saying what they were doing at the time the towers were hit etc. I don't feel like remembering those images in my mind. So I avoid the TV on days like today. Call me weird, but nope It's not how I'd prefer to remember things.

My mind can already recall things just fine. I don't need the help of the media at all.

So happy thoughts... must have happy thoughts now.

Oops Part Two

Woke up late this morning. Was supposed to get out the door by 6:30 at the latest... yeah woke up at 7 instead. Darn alarm clock didn't wake us up. Either of them.

Now I'm wondering, what's the point of having two alarm clocks if neither want to wake us up on time?

I suppose the dog could wake us up... if he has to go outside. Hmmm... teach the dog that he needs to go outside at 6am every morning. Now there's an idea.

The cats used to wake us up at 4, 5, and 6. Guess they were lazy this morning. That's right, each cat had their own time. Muffin was at 6. Little one was at 5. and Baby, he wakes us up at 4.

On a good note, it is the weekend coming up. So I can sleep in tomorrow and not worry about anything. Oh yes I sure will be sleeping in... after staying up all night tonight that is.

Laptop Woes

So... my laptop decided to die on me here and there. If I leave it stationary it's fine. Other than that, it hates me.

Went and got a netbook. That works rather well. It's a good size and does what it needs to do. Gets me online when I need to and I just have good times. Or eh something like that. It doesn't contain the same amount of memory that my other laptop had... but eh it works out just fine.

My Phone

I love my phone. Sure you can't LOVE a phone. So I like my phone a lot. It's fun.

It does lots of nifty things on the interwebs and lets me talk, text, take photos, video etc. It's a nice little phone. Oh I can even watch movies on it. Haven't tried much but I can ... at least that's what they tell me. By they I mean the nice person at the store from whom I bought it.

Yay phone!

Pushups

Been doing pushups at work.... trying to work my way up to 100 in one set.

Yeah it's going interesting for sure.... if I ever make it to 100 in one set... it sure will be a miracle.

Oops

Guess I exceeded the allowed number of whatevers... when I imported all of my other posts. Yeah... gonna have to wait on that I guess.

Oh well, more to come later I'm sure. :-)

Really happy I found this blog again. Glad it's still around.

Wow and Books

Completely forgot about this sucker... Heh, guess I will pick this back up and continue writing in it.

Just living life the usual way. Completed a book in two days. Yes that's right, two whole days. It was 435 pages. Star Trek of course.... hey whatever will get me to read right? Right!

So yes, I read that book. QSquared. They have a bunch of hard cover books at the D.I. So I figured why not pick one up. So yes, that's exactly what I did.

Ever feel like no one is listening?

Ever have that feeling that no one is listening to you? Yeah, that feeling. It can be a strong feeling to have, a hurtful feeling also. The...
