Blast From The Past: February 12, 2020

There Should Be Space Wed Feb 12 20:54:57 MST 2020 There should be space where nothing makes sense and that’s okay with everyone. There should be a place where absolutely nothing matters, and we don’t have a clue what’s going on, but again it doesn’t matter…so we survive. Things like that. Isn’t that okay? Isn’t that what this life should be about? Something like that.

Never A Dull Moment

Jennifer walked down the sidewalk towards her apartment. The sun was shining and the sky was blue. She smiled at the thought of going home and turning on the television and just relaxing.

Work had been kinda stressful for her. She was ready to just forget about it all and get over whatever she had gone through that day.

Upon arriving home, she took off her shoes and plopped down on the couch in front of her television. Pressing the button on the remote she noticed it wasn't working. Either her TV was on the fritz or her power was out. She reached over and clicked the lamp's switch. Nothing happened.

"Oh don't worry about those, you won't be needing them." A female voice said. It was her voice.

Jennifer turned around to see herself standing in the entry way of the kitchen.

"Don't freak out, I'm you." The other Jennifer said. "Call me Jenny."

Jennifer stood up slowly. She hadn't used the nickname Jenny in a long time. Not since she was a little girl.

"How did you know that nickname?" Jennifer asked.

Jenny put her hands on her hips. "Isn't it obvious? I'm you."

Jennifer nodded slowly. Of course that would make sense. Was she losing it?

Jenny shook her head. "I remember this conversation like it was yesterday. Heh, I remember my future self saying exactly that too." She exited the kitchen and sat down in a chair next to the couch.

"Please have a seat." Jenny said.

Jennifer sat back down on the couch. "Why are you here? How did you get here?"

Jenny smiled. "I'm a time traveler" she said, "and you have a lot to learn about your future."

"You're what now?" Jennifer asked, her jaw dropping wide open.

Jenny laughed. "Yep, I knew you'd react that way." She folded her arms across her chest. "Listen, we don't have much time. In an hour a man will come to your door, you must go with him."

"What? Why?" Jennifer asked.

Jenny reached into her back pocket and took out a small notebook. She handed it to Jennifer. "Here's all the information you need to know. Also, when you have this conversation with yourself, don't forget to give her or you, this diary. If you forget, all of this will had been done in vain."

Jennifer looked down to the diary and flipped open to the first page. It was dated twenty years into the future. "But how do I know if you're telling the truth?"

Looking up, Jennifer reacted as she saw that Jenny was gone. Vanished or something.

Jennifer frowned. Looking back to the journal she remembered what Jenny had said about the man. To follow him. Trust him. Whatever it took she had to keep the timeline intact.

"I hope there's no time police out to get me if I screw up!" Jennifer sighed.

The End

Didn't Sleep

What's the point of sleep anymore if I can't sleep? I don't think I slept any good last night. I was awake at 3 am wondering to myself, what on earth am I doing awake? Yeah, that happened. It doesn't make any sense. Fortunately, it's the weekend. So, I can catch up on sleep tonight. I don't have to be anywhere tomorrow, so it's a good opportunity to actually sleep for once. Whatever the case, I hope I'll be able to fall asleep and stay asleep. We will see what happens.

Temptation Bible vs Book of Mormon

In the Bible in 1 Corinthians 10:13 we find: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able ; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. But what might seem as a contradiction is found in Alma 13:28 But that ye would humble yourselves before the Lord, and call on his holy name, and watch and pray continually, that ye may not be tempted above that which ye can bear , and thus be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming humble, meek, submissive, patient, full of love and all long-suffering; So, which is it? Either God tempts you to a point and stops, or you have to actively pray not to be tempted beyond that no return point. Which is it?

An Opposition In All Things

Long has been the story told about how there must be an opposition in all things. From the pre-existence there was Satan, Lucifer the Son of the Morning. In the beginning we were with God in his presence. We learned all we could while there. Until the moment we couldn’t progress any more, we were unable to become like God. So, we were given the opportunity to come to Earth to gain a body. A Savior would be provided to atone for our sins enabling us to come back to the presence of God. The idea that an opposition must be in all things comes from 2nd Nephi: For it must needs be, that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, my firstborn in the wilderness, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all things must needs be a compound in one; wherefore, if it should be one body it must needs remain as dead, having no life neither death, nor corruption nor incorruption, happiness nor misery, neither...
